“As a Danish family business, we want to actively participate in the green transition in construction. We believe we have a shared responsibility to leave the world in good shape for future generations. Our packaging policy is a concrete example in which we have already done a lot and can continue to invest”, says Anders Bertelsen Toft, director (CCO) of Alfix.
Recycled plastic
Alfix 1K Sealant is now supplied in beautiful recycled plastic buckets for the environment. The former white virgin plastic has been replaced by recycled material with a light gray color. This color can proudly be seen at the top edge of the bucket. With this, the Alfix 1K Sealant packaging is in line with the company’s previous initiatives in the field of recycled plastic. The buckets for Alfix 2K Sealant, Alfix DuraPuds 800 SR (façade plaster) and Alfix DuraDec 8000 SR (façade paint) were also previously transferred to plastic made from recycled waste.
“Material made of recycled plastics waste are hardly inferior to virgin (or new) plastic” says Remco Meijer, account manager at Dijkstra Plastics. “Not only are there more and more colours available in the recycled material, but also the quality is increasing and becoming more consistent.” Dijkstra Plastics already produced 3 million more buckets from recycled material in 2020. “And the growth is definitely continuing, for the sake of the environment but also the technical developments that push the market towards circularity.” says Remco in conclusion. “But these developments are also necessary for plastic to fulfil the role it can have in the more sustainable future. Together with Alfix and Danish distributor Myhre Trading, we are happy to support these types of green transitions.”

BRC Packaging
BRCGS is a standard for food safety. The standard describes the hygiene and food safety requirements for food processing companies that supply directly to the retail sector. You can also think of packaging materials for foodstuffs.
FSSC 22000
The FSSC 22000 Standard has been created through Stichting Certificatie Voedselveiligheid (SCV). As a food-oriented version of the ISO 22000 Standard, this certification programme has been set up as a global guideline in food safety and quality within various industries. This standard is aimed at the entire production chain and as such, it is ideally suited for international harmonisation, partly thanks to the recognition by the GFSI. In addition to its connection with ISO 22000, the FSSC 22000 has many comparisons with the HACCP criteria, making it an attractive variant with the best of both worlds from these programmes. Thanks to the internationally accepted nature of the FSSC and the chain-wide approach within this certification programme, we recognise a strong food safety management system in this standard.
